Poinsettia Step Card

A warm hello to you.  I want to wish everyone a wonderful Christmas Day and that you have the love of family and friends around you today.

Today I have created a card using one of CLD step card dies. I do love the CLD step card dies as they are a easy and quick bases to make. I have use the A2 Fancy Step Card Kit  for the base of this card. The flourish pattern in  this die makes for a elegant card. The Royal Scandinavian Doily Circle  is very elegant too so I layered it onto the center of the base.

I featured the Poinsettia 2 in the center cutting it out of the pow paper which glitters so nicely. From the Deer in the Forest  die I used the leaves and flourish part of it to use as filler around the poinsettia. The pow paper is thick enough that the insides of the leaves don't fall out really easy so it gives a nice look that way too instead of always popping them out.

Another die of CLD that I really like is the Pretty Pretty Bows . You get two different sizes and they make perfect bows. This is the smaller sized bow that I have used here.

Well that is it for today. I am so glad you took the time to stop by . We do have our regular weekly challenge going on as usual so if you have the time and want to share your creation I would love to see it.  The theme this week is "Thank You".
You can join @ http://cheerylynndesigns.blogspot.ca/search/label/challenge for you chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree.

I hope all your stockings were filled with CLD dies and that you have as much fun creating with them as I do. Merry Christmas and have a wonderful day.

It's Cold Out

A warm hello to you.   I am glad to see you here today.

Here I have embossed the base with the Snowflake Flurries  and then inked over it with purple ink to make the embossing pop even more. I place the Dancing Doily Lace Border  up each side and a couple of pieces of it on the corners of the framed image.

Here the image was layered onto one of the  Horizon Square Boutique Stacker Frames  . The
Snowflakes were cut from holographic paper which really shows them off.  The Dandelions I cut in white to make them look like tiny frosty flowers and then tucked them behind the frame. This was a simple card to make but is elegant too with the embossing, dancing doily lace border and the shiny snowflakes.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I invite you now to join our  Cheery Lynn Designs  weekly challenge @ http://cheerylynndesigns.blogspot.ca/search/label/challenge for your chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree. I do enjoy getting inspired by all who join our challenges.

Gingerbread House

Hi Glad to see you here today.  Christmas is getting so close so I want to share another Christmas card with you. I am featuring this new gingerbread house with so many wonderful detail and accessories like the icicle roof and chimney tops as well as the lollipops and candy canes. Gingerbread was always  one of my favorite smells at Christmas time.

Here I layered kraft CS, the Horizon Square Boutique Stacker Frames, kraft CS again and then the Royal Scandinavian Doily to place the Gingerbread House  on.

Here is a close up of the beautifully detailed gingerbread house. I added two snowflakes layered on top of each other with bling in the center using the Snowflake Set 2. The three smaller snowflakes are from the Snowflakes set which is a square die that cuts  several different sizes and shapes of snowflakes. I use this die a lot as it give you a good variety of snowflakes using only one die.

I now invite you to join our weekly Cheery Lynn Designs challenge @http://cheerylynndesigns.blogspot.ca/search/label/challenge for your chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree. Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a crafty week.

It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

A warm hello to you today.  Today I am going to follow along with the "Non Traditional Christmas Colors" challenge theme. The traditional colors are always so beautiful but I am finding the non traditional colors can make striking cards too and people receiving them  think they are beautiful also. So go out of the box and try some new colors this year.

I always liked the Christmas song "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" and thought this would be perfect to use with the Cheery Lynn Designs  Clock w/Angel Wing.  So I made that my focal point of this card. I started the base by layering the Coved Rectangle - Scalloped LG Stackers and the Coved  Rectangle-Classic LG  Stackers .  I clock design on the background was made by inking up the Clocks  Embossing  Plate with black and embossing the Coved Rectangle-Classic  LG Stackers.

I place the Clock w/Angel Wing  a bit off the side of the card and trimmed it. The sentiment was printed on the computer then cut out with the one of the Circle- Scalloped LG Stackers .

This flower arrangement was created using the Poinsettia Strip  , Poinsettia Strip  , Pine Branches  , and the Flourish #10 . For the poinsettias I spritzed them with goosebumps and then inked them with distress ink. So any where the goosebumps spray is the ink won't cover giving it the speckled effect. I then shaped them with a stylus and foam mat. Pearls were added to the center of the poinsettias.

Thanks so much for joining me today and for the comments that were left on my last post. You still have a bit of time left yet to join this weeks  Cheery Lynn Designs challenge
@ http://cheerylynndesigns.blogspot.ca/search/label/challenge. I would love to see your creations. I hope everyone has a fun week creating them special Christmas cards for the special people in your lives. See you next Friday.

Christmas Canvas

Hi Nice to see you here today.  This is a canvas that I have used a wood grain stencil, gesso, gelatos and distress inks on to give it a  barn board look.

Each year I try to come up with a new idea for a new Christmas decoration. This canvas will look beautiful hanging on a wall or standing on a easel.

The Clock w/Angel Wing is off to the right cut in black and using Inka Golds to color it up giving it a metal look. This clock is one of my favorite CLD dies.  The Old Barn Board  was used as a base to layer the Merry Christmas  to. The  Hinges were added to the edge of the barn board.

Here I layered the image, the Oval Classic - Silver Stackers  and the Royal Scandinavian Oval Doily as my focal point. I added the  Whistle a Happy Tune  colored with Inka  Golds. The Poinsettia 2  was layered using the greenery off the Merry Christmas  around it. The tag with 2015 is from the Love Tags . I place the Garden Bench  in the bottom corner with one of the tiny flowers from the Tiny Flower Kit . Again I used the Inka Golds on the wrought iron of the bench. I added a few white dots here and there to give it a snowy look. Well that is it for this week. I hope I have inspired you to play with a canvas.

Please come and join our weekly challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs for your chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree. The theme this week is "Anything Goes".
                                                             Have a crafty week.

Vintage Christmas Tags

It is so nice to see you here today. I would like to take a minute to say thanks all our viewers who take the time to leave  comments. It is really appreciated. So Thank You. Now for this weeks project. I was inspired by our weekly challenge theme "Tag Your It" and decided to follow along. It is always nice to make your own personal tags to attach to the gifts for those special people in your lives.

I love the vintage look so I created a set of three simple but elegant vintage tags using only five dies. All the bases were cut from a aqua printed paper and  paired with kraft paper. All were inked up with distress ink. I embossed here and there with the chunky metal embossing powder so that there where areas with no embossing and  then inked them areas where the embossing was missed. This gives it a dimensional look with out the metal embossing looking too chunky if you know what I mean.

For this tag I used one of the Pierced Stacker #2 for the base. Don't you just love the stitching around this die.  The Merry Christmas  is from the  Crafty Ann  collection.

The base of this tag is Circle - Scalloped LG Stackers Nesting Dies . I have left the wreath off set a bit so you can see the nice line edge around the scallop which gives it another dimension without layering it. The Joy to the World Wreath set I cut twice. I layered one wreath on top of the other to create more fullness, The sentiment from that set was place in the center.

This tag was made from one die set which is the Bow and Bell . The bow cuts out as a outline so I just attached it to paper and fussy cut around it. So you can get two different looks with this bow, by backing it as I have done or leave it as a outline only. I embellished all three tags with aqua bling .

I hope I have inspired you today with these tags. They are so pretty that you could even hang them on your tree as a decoration year after year.

Thanks so much for joining me today. I invite you now to come join our challenge "Tag Your It"

Steampunk Christmas Layout

Nice to see you here today.   This week I was wanting to play with the Crafts Ann's steampunk dies from Cheery Lynn Designs but also wanting to do a Christmas layout as Christmas just around the corner now.  So I decided to mix dies that I wouldn't normally use together and I just love the results. Sometimes it is good to work out of the box and venture doing something different.

I started with a piece of kraft cardstock and spritzed it with water and crinkled it up a few times to get a nice texture . I then rubbed a ink pad over it and spritzed it again to make the ink move around and blend. I matted it with black. I then took a piece of map paper and torn it round the edges a little and inked it to give it a old look. That was my base done  ready to add die cuts to make my layout. The sentiment Christmas Wish is from the Merry Christmas Set and the Make a Wish Phrases .

I cut the Frame and layered it onto the map. All the steampunk dies were colors with Inka Gold to give them a nice metal look. This Frame set is awesome as the center has gears, nuts, bolt, wrench, screwdriver and chain cut outs making it great die set for men and boy cards. The Old Car  was cut three times. The first one I left as my base to build on. The second one I cut the tires off and put silver paper behind to give a chrome look to the cuts outs. The third one I cut the tires off again and embossed the car body with Micro black embossing powder to give it a nice paint job. When all assembled the tires sit back in a little like the real thing. Got to love this old car too.

Here is a photo of the corner using the Corner #3  with the wrench and screw driver beside it from the frame set.  The Poinsettia Strip   and Holly Leaves  were layered on top.

This is the top corner. The poinsettia's were cut from burgundy velvet paper and the centers were gears tiny gears from the Gears and Frame  set. There tiny gears make great centers for the poinsettia's. The poinsettias were layered onto the Snowflake 2.  The gear strip along the top is the Border #15 . The clock it from the Romantic set. I used silver liquid pearls in the centers also and on some of the gears for rivets.

Thank you for stopping by today. Please leave a comment and tell me what you think of the steampunk and Christmas dies used together.
I challenge you this week to play with different combo's of dies that you wouldn't normally use together and see what you come up with.

There is still time to join our  weekly challenge @ http://cheerylynndesigns.blogspot.ca/search/label/challenge
which is "Autumn Colors" for your chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree .

3D Box Card

A warm hello to all you Cheery Lynn  fans.   I was at a crop last weekend and did a "make and take" to learn how to make this 3D box style card.  So I am excited to share with you today my version of a 3D box card that I created using CLD dies.

This box styled card is 1 1/2 inches wide and has two pieces of cardstock spaced out inside the box to attach designs too. I used the largest of the Pierced Stacker #4 to cut out the front as well as cutting the same design in the two inside cardstock pieces so they matched up.

It is hard to tell in the photo but in the box I mounted the Grass Border 2 and Deer in the Forest  at the front of the first layer. The Ornament Christmas Tree  is mounted to the front of the second layer and the Dancing Snow Flurries to the back of the second layer.  Thus making the deer close and the tree and snowflakes farther back. All designs were cut from the glittery "Pow" paper. The balls on the tree were colored with copics. The pow paper worked good for the deer as I was able to leave the inside cut outs in place  rather that pop them out . I wanted all the designs to be sparkley. The three snowflakes on the top left corner are from cut from the Snowflakes die. Bling was added.

This is the top corner of the box and the Paris Signs 2 made a nice design for this top corner.
This box card also folds down flat for putting into a envelope.

I invite you to join our challenge @ http://cheerylynndesigns.blogspot.ca/search/label/challenge for your chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Please leave a comment before you go if you have the time.
Have a crafty week and I will be back next Friday with another design. .

Give Thanks

A Warm Hello.  Glad to see you here today. Today I have created a  " Give Thanks" card. I had this beautiful paper with colorful fall leaves in my stash that I thought would be perfect paper for this design that I had in mind.

I cut a couple of matts and  then layered the largest of the Horizon Square Boutique Stacker Frames   cut out of the pattern paper. I cut a couple of Mini Butterflies w Angel Wings  and layered them over the butterflies that were part of the paper pattern to give a 3D effect. I colored some white pearls green with my copics to match the paper and used glossy accents to add rain droplets on the leaves.

I've just got to show you a close up of the  twiggy wreath that  I used as my focal point. The Happy Halloween Twiggy Wreath   is a great design for making a wreath for any season or occasion. I used two layers of this wreath popping each layer up. I left one crow attached and cut the crow from the second cut and perched him up on the sign. I hung the sign (which I printed from the internet)  from the top of the wreath. What a perfect sentiment for this challenge theme. A few of the branches from the Branch set were inked in fall colors to match and tucked in here and there. A bow finished off the wreath nicely.

Thanks for joining me today.  I now invite you to join our weekly challenge for your chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree.  I will see you next Friday when I will share another project with you. I am sure you will like the design of it.

Gone Fishin'

A warm hello to everyone. I hope everyone is enjoying the new dies from the new release. Today I am featuring two of the new sets on my card. The Fishing Set (set of 9) - B648 and the Fishing Boat Set (set of 4) - B649.

I started with the base in blue and embossing it with the inked Wood Grain   embossing plate. From the Fishing Set  I used the fishing rod, fish, hook and bobber. As you can see I had so much fun with this set. I cut the reel and hook from gold paper which made them so realistic. The thread used for the fishing line made the fishing rod even more realistic. The hook can go right thru the fishes mouth the way the die is made. For the bobber I cut it in red and white both and layered the two colors again making it so realistic.  A couple of the paddles and the piles are from the Fishing Boat Set . The birds on the piles are from the Bird Bath  set.
The Old Barn Board  with the sentiment Gone Fishin' were paired up with the Ship's Anchor  to fill in the top corner. These two new sets I featured will be fantastic for masculine cards. The details in them are amazing.  Now don't forget to check out our weekly challenge for your chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree. I would love to see your creations. Have a crafty week.

Oct 18th Vintage Memory Album

Hello This week at Cheery Lynn Designs is the "Vintage" challenge. A few days ago CLD new release included dies for making memory books. So I choose to make a Christmas memory book using the  Memory book (Mini) Hearts & Ribbons . The book is 6.5 X 8.5 inches. I created this large memory book by cutting two of the smaller dies to make the binding and spacing them out. That is how I made such a nice sized book with the small dies.  I used the  Curved Border Set  on the edge of each page  and made each page a bit longer than the last one so they are staggered. I embossed the Merry Christmas  with a mixed metal embossing powder to give it a vintage look. The inside pages are decorated with the new Royal Scandinavian Doily Circle  and Royal Scandinavian Boutique Stacker A2 Frame. I also used the Holly Corner  and Holly Lace Flourish  to embellish the inside. Please come join our challenge @ http://cheerylynndesigns.blogspot.ca/search/label/challenge for your chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree. I would love to see your creations. Have a crafty week.

Black and Orange

A warm hello to you. With fall here and all the fall colors everywhere I look I was inspired do create this card for the Cheery Lynn Designs challenge. The theme is "Orange and Black" so it worked perfect. I cut the Fall Leaf Doily w/Angel Wing  and the Fall Leaf Mesh Border  and inked them up with the fall colors leaving the trim around the edges in a beige tone. I matted them in black to really make them pop. I layered a  cute little Small Exotic Butterflies #1 w/Angel Wings   to the center of the doily. The Lace Corner Deco J  and Thank You #2 finished the card off nicely. A warm hello to you. "Lace" That's the challenge this week at Cheery Lynn Designs. I started by matting three layers of paper for my base. I cut the Hearts (Set of 4) out of the white cardstock base. I layered the Dancing Doily Lace Border  along the top and bottom.  I cut the Love Tags (Set of 8) and threaded ribbon thru them and strung them along the top. The two flowers on the corners are from the  Sweet Christine . The leaves are from the Tea Rose Small . A few pearls added to the lace border and the card was complete. The hearts and tags are from the Crafty Ann Dies which Cheery Lynn Designs now owns. There is a nice selection of Crafty Ann dies which fits right in with the rest of Cheery Lynn Designs dies.  I invite you to come join our challenge for your chance to win a $20.00  shopping spree. Things With Wings

Hi there. This weeks challenge @ Cheery Lynn Designs is "Things With Wings". I really like the Feathered Friends set . It is a set of four bird with beautiful detail to them. So I picked the blue jay from that set to feature on my card. I used distress inks to create a sunset background and then stamped a few branches. I used the Old Barn Board  cut narrow for my fence posts. The Barbed Wire  was then tacked to the posts. The blue jay from the Feathered Friends  was inked and perched on the barbed wire.  A couple of the leaves from the Dimensional Small Leaves #2 were layered in the top corner. A few of the tiny dragonflies from the Tiny Things with Wings  are flying high around the moon.  The new  Grass Border 2  is layered along the bottom.  I invite you now to come join the "Things with Wings" challenge @ http://cheerylynndesigns.blogspot.ca/search/label/challenge. All About Texture

Hello Today at Cheery Lynn Designs is a new challenge. The theme is "All About texture". I started by folding a piece of black paper and cutting the largest of the Pierced Stacker #3 just a bit above the fold so it makes a beautiful card base. I cut a single one after that and placed it behind the front of the card with it off set at the bottom just a bit for another layer.  I then sprayed it with perfect pearl mist to give it a nice sparkle texture. I then cut the Flourish #10  out of the middle of a piece of thick paper and used it as a stencil with a white pearl paste. It is had to see in the photo but the paste with the flourish really gave it some great texture. After the flourish dried I then tinted it with a touch of green with gelatos. I cut and assembled three of the Bell Flowers and layered onto the flourish. The butterfly is a stamped image colored with gelatos. I stamped the sentiment  and then cut it out with the Pierced Banners (Set of 3). I cut a second banner in black to mat with. A bit of bling and the card was finished. The Flourish and Bell Flowers are crafty Ann dies with are a new line of Cheery Lynn Designs. I invite you to come join our challenge

August 30th Frame It

August 23rd Anything goes

Hi there. The challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs this week is "Anything Goes". I started with a wood grain base then added the Chicken Wire . I had fun with the new Thankful Harvest  die. I followed the video that is on the homepage of CLD website by embossing instead of cutting the die and then coloring the areas the color I wanted them. I then cut out one and placed over the colored embossed design. How cool is that. I did the coloring and shading with copic markers. I colored the Sunflower with copics also and placed some leaves behind it from the  Build a Flower # 1. A few Wheat Heads here and there where tucked in behind. Last I added the Paris Signs 1  to the top corner with the text give thanks on it. I invite you now to come join our challenge

Aug 16th Doilies

Hello This weeks challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs is "Doilies". I started with the Circle - Scalloped LG Stackers  folded in half  for the base. I then used the Doily Stacker Circles cut to size and layered on top of the base. Layered on top of the base is the Circle - Scalloped LG Stackers  and the Fleur De Lis Doily  followed by the Heart and Arrow  with the sentiment Love.  One of the Small Exotic Butterflies #2 w/Angel Wings  was added to the top right. I collected some of the pieces from the Fleur De Lis Doily  and layered them along the edge of the Doily Stacker Circles . A few pearls finished the design off nicely. Please come join the challenge

Back To Nature

A warm hello. Today I am going to share with you a card I created for the Cheery Lynn Designs challenge. The theme is "Back to Nature (butterflies, birds, bees etc.)". I choose to make a card using just four dies. I like the way it turned out with all the dies being featured equally and all standing out nicely. I started with a black base. I then cut the largest of the Dutch Daisy Boutique Stacker A2 Frame  set and layered it onto the base. I cut the wings from the Small Lace Butterfly w/Angel Wing  and colored it with copic markers. I cut the butterfly from the Small Lace Butterfly w/Angel Wing  in white and layered it on top of the colored wings. What a striking butterfly it created. I used the Leafy Flourish  in green on the corners and cut it again in white. I then cut the flowers off the white flourish and colored them to match the butterfly. I popped the colored flowers up on the flourish to give another layer. I used the sentiment Mother's with the "S" cut off and added Mother to the top corner. I really like how striking this all looks on the black base. I hope you will come join our challenge @ http://cheerylynndesigns.blogspot.ca/search/label/challenge  for your chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree. Have a crafty week.

Summer Fun

Welcome. Today I am sharing with you my card for the "Summer Fun" challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs. I started by drawing the shape of flip flops and cutting them out. I added two white strips of paper with the one end rounded for the straps and added a flower from the Tiny Flower Kit . How cute they turned out. I cut a narrow piece of pattern paper and used the Royal Scandinavian Border Set  to cut a design along the edge of it. I then layered it along the top. I cut the Fleur De Lis Doily (Set of 2) and backed the smaller one with cream paper. This made a beautiful background for the umbrella. To create the umbrella I used one of the  Circle Classic - Silver Stackers  cut in half. I then cut the fancy edge along the bottom of the umbrella with the Royal Scandinavian Border Set  in purple pattern paper and layered it along the bottom. I used the small design from the Royal Scandinavian Tag 1 to layer at the top of the umbrella. A skewer stick was then added to finish off the umbrella. The sentiment Friend  was added to the bottom corner. The flip flops were layer on the opposite bottom corner. Some tiny bling gave it that little extra. I invite you now to come join the challenge @ http://cheerylynndesigns.blogspot.ca/search/label/challenge for your chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree. Have a crafty week my friends.

Anything Goes /Halloween

Welcome back. I have used a few of the new Halloween dies on this 7.5 x 8.5 mini album cover page for the Cheery Lynn Designs challenge "Anything Goes". I started by layering a couple of the different sizes of frames from the Deutschland Boutique Stacker A2 Frame  set. I then layered the Trick or Treat , Home Sweet Home , Jack-O'-Lanterns . and Tomb Stone  { all newly released dies } on top of the frames.  The cutest little crows along the top of the one frame is from the Tomb Stone set. The tiny witch is from the Bundle of 7 Dies  set. The spider web is from the Lace Corner Deco H  set. The Ornamental Gate  is used behind the Jack o Lanterns and House. I cut a third gate and cut the top of the pickets off and layered in front of the tomb stone. These dies used together really do make a great cover page for a Halloween mini album. I invite you to come join our challenge

Silver and /or Gold

Hello The theme for the challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs is "Silver and / or Gold".  I wanted to show you as many of the new Christmas dies as I could so I did  a  8.5 by 8.5 cover page for a Christmas mini album. I started with a white base and stamped some clouds on it. I tore some paper to make the snowbanks. The Victorian Picket Fence  was layered along the front. Then I stared layering all the beautiful Christmas dies after cutting and inking them all up. The Gingerbread House  was placed just a touch behind the snow bank with the candy cane and candies on each side of it. The Snowflake Delight 2  was layered in the top corner. One of the snowflakes from the Snowflake Set 2 was place in the center of it and one on the fence. I then cut the Toy Soldier  in blue. red and gold and cut them to layer the different colors were I wanted them. Then I  place a piece of flesh colored paper  for the face and hands and brown for the hair on the die and cut the pieces to layer for them areas. He is just priceless.  The Reindeer Fun  dies was used next. I cut him in brown and then used a different brown for the background and fussy cut around the reindeer. I cut a second one in gold and then cut out the accents and layered it on top adding red bling to them. The nose was cut from red metallic paper. He is so adorable.  The  Icicles Border   was placed across the top. The Paris Signs 1 was placed in the top left corner with the sentiment Believe layered on top. Well I have just used several of the new Christmas dies used for you to get ideas from. Be sure to check back next week when I will be doing another cover page but for a Halloween mini album using several of the new Halloween dies .  I now invite you to join our challenge
